This fall, RaceTrac supported both the Wesley Chapel Athletic Association in Tampa, Florida and Club Sport Kids in St. Petersburg, Florida. The company sponsored two teams in the Wesley Chapel Soccer Club and donated funds to help underprivileged children participate in Club Sport Kids programs. RaceTrac continued their dedication to the training and development of local youths while promoting respect, teamwork, positive attitude, and sportsmanship on the field.
Wesley Chapel Athletic Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation run entirely by volunteers, which offers local boys and girls various quality sports programs. The Wesley Chapel Soccer Club serves the Wesley Chapel and surrounding Tampa area by providing a competitive soccer environment for young players who have the desire, dedication, and technical ability to play at the highest level.
Club Sport Kids is a branch of the Tampa Bay Club Sport organization which is committed to creating an environment that is focused on kids having fun while playing sports. They provide outdoor and indoor soccer, as well as flag football leagues to youths in the community.
RaceTrac Supports Florida Youths
On September 19th, RaceTrac supported the 5th Annual Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office 5K “Ranch Run.’’ All event proceeds benefitted the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, which is a collection of residential and outreach programs targeted at preventing juvenile delinquency. The organization helps to develop strong, lawful, resilient, and productive citizens who will make positive contributions to the community for years to come.
This year’s “Ranch Run” raised $24,000 for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches and those funds will help provide services to their six camps around the state.
RaceTrac Partners with Gator Harley-Davidson for Lake County Schools
RaceTrac partnered with Gator Harley-Davidson in "Helping Lake County Schools Educational Foundation." The Educational Foundation of Lake County, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) that serves as the direct support organization for the Lake County Public School District. The foundation is autonomous from the school district but partners with the district to provide programs and services for all teachers and students in k-12. The foundation’s mission is to promote excellence in education.
The Education Foundation of Lake County gives back to the community by providing supplies to families who can't afford them, Homework Assistance Hotline: certified teachers can be reached from Monday thru Thursday 4-7 pm for aid to homework assignments of any grade., Take Stock: Scholarship program that serves lower income students from 7th grade and awards scholarships for college based on tracked performance. RaceTrac is proud to support Lake County, Florida’s educational endeavors.
RaceTrac Teams with Orlando’s Habitat for Humanity
Some of life’s simple pleasures can be found in the art of giving back. On March 21, 2009, members of RaceTrac’s East Florida Operations Team, volunteered to help Habitat for Humanity change the lives of four Orlando families. The team of 19 volunteers spent the day painting the interior of the Habitat homes along side the new homeowners.

“It was a great team building activity, but being able to share the time with the actual homeowners added to the overall experience,” stated East Florida Marketing Manager Yomar Serrano.
To date, Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing ministry, has built more than 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter.
RaceTrac Employees Participate in Annual Hands on Atlanta Day
Members of the RaceTrac Store Support center recently participated in the annual Hands on Atlanta Day community service day by volunteering at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. RaceTrac employees assisted the Kennesaw Mountain Trail club by helping to create over 100 yards of new trails in the park in order to develop a new wheelchair accessible trail at the park. Duties included clearing brush and grading the trail in order to allow Georgians of all abilities to enjoy the park trails.

Hands On Atlanta is a non-profit organization that helps individuals, families and corporate and community groups find flexible volunteer opportunities at more than 400 service organizations and schools. Hands On Atlanta volunteers work every day of the year building community and meeting critical needs in schools, parks, senior homes, food banks, pet shelters, low-income neighborhoods and more.
RaceTrac Sponsors Salvation Army Spring Cleaning
RaceTrac sponsored the “Doing the Most Good Together” spring cleaning clothing drive along with the Salvation Army of Broward County. For three days, three designated RaceTrac stores in Broward County teamed up with the Salvation Army to help launch a county-wide donation drive. May 10th –May 13th RaceTrac received donations onsite of clothing, shoes and household items. Salvation Army representatives were on-site to collect donations. To encourage donations, RaceTrac distributed large plastic bags, to be filled with donations.
The Salvation Army issued tax deduction receipts to customers. Additionally, customers who returned their bags with their donations received free RaceTrac product coupons for a hot dog, fountain drink and a free RaceTrac mug, as our way of saying thanks to customers for being involved in their community. This promotion supported the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, an effective residential work therapy program for men who have lost their way in life.
